Crystal Water Monitor runs on three AA batteries and reports its battery level once per day. You can view the current battery level in the app to keep track of when your batteries may need to be replaced. Crystal Water Monitor will also show you an action when your battery level becomes too low.
Battery Status Levels
- Normal: Your batteries are in good shape and no action is needed.
- Low: The battery level has dropped to a point where you should plan to replace your batteries soon. The monitor will continue to function, but it's a good time to pick up a fresh set.
- Really Low: The battery level is critically low and the batteries should be replaced as soon as possible. At this level, the monitor may begin to have difficulty maintaining reliable readings and connectivity.
When will the status clear?
Battery status indicators are designed to be stable — they won't flip back and forth as the voltage fluctuates slightly. Once the monitor enters a Low or Really Low state, the battery level needs to recover above the threshold before the status will clear. In practice, this means the status will remain until you replace the batteries.
Tips for battery life
- Use fresh, name-brand (Duracell) AA alkaline batteries for the best performance and longevity
- Extreme temperatures, particularly very cold water in cold plunges or winter climates, can reduce battery capacity and cause voltage to read lower than expected. In cold conditions you should use name-brand lithium AA batteries.
- After replacing batteries, the status in the app will update with the next checkin, usually 20 minutes or less.
