Crystal allows you to share a pool or hot tub with others so that they can keep an eye on your status or even manage your pool. This can be useful to allow your neighbor to watch your pool while you're away or to share your water history with your pool service company.
In-App Shares
In-app shares are account-to-account shares that allow another user to add your pool or spa to their own Crystal account. When you create an in-app share you get to choose a role which dictates what the person who accepts the invite is allowed to do with your pool or hot tub.
To create an in-app share, open the Crystal app and navigate to the pool or hot tub you'd like to share. Click the gear icon to go into pool or hot tub settings. Scroll down to the Shares section and click the + Share button.
You'll be asked to choose a share type, choose the role you wish to use under the In-App Share section.
Consumer Roles - Not a Crystal Pro Account
| Caretaker | Allows completing actions, changing chemicals, etc.For sharing with someone who will manage your pool. |

| Limited Guest | Read Only. Sees a delayed status and water history trends. |
Pro Roles - For Crystal Pro Accounts

Once you choose a role, you'll be asked to provide a few bits of information:
Nickname - A short name for you to remember what who the share is for. This could be your friend or customer's name.
From - A short name that the person you invite will see when they accept the share.
Share Duration - How long the share should be active for. This allows you to share it with your neighbor for a limited time while you're away.
In-app shares optionally also allow setting a password for enhanced security. If you use a password you'll need to share it with the person you're inviting outside of the Crystal app.
You can revoke an in-app share at any time and remove access.
Web Shares
Web shares allow you to create a public internet link that displays a readonly website showing a delayed pool status. You can also print a page to display near the pool or hot tub to allow guests to scan and view the status.
