Sensor Acclimation Periods

CURRENT WEATHER AND SHIPPING ISSUES MAY HAVE IMPACTED YOUR SENSOR
Due to the heat wave, some sensors are arriving dry and requiring additional time to rehydrate and acclimate.

Crystal Sensors need time to acclimate to your water before their readings are accurate. Most of the time, simply placing your sensor in your water for 30 minutes provides ample time for the sensor to hydrate. Occasionally due to shipping and storage irregularities a sensor may require up to 72 hours to fully rehydrate, however, most sensors with this condition acclimate within 24 hours.

How to Accelerate Rehydration

Vinegar Soak

Pour a small amount of white vinegar into the storage cap and tighten the cap back onto the sensor. There should be enough vinegar in the cap so not only does the sponge soak it up, but there is also visible liquid above the sponge for the glass bulb of the sensor to be immersed.Allow the sensor to soak in the vinegar for at least 3 hours or overnight. After soaking, pour out the vinegar and place the sensor into your pool or hot tub. It will take an additional 30 minutes for the sensor to adjust to your water.
